Why OdeCare

Why OdeCare beats the alternatives

A home security camera

Cameras miss the moment

A camera helps only if someone is watching it live — and nobody wants one in the bedroom or bathroom.

An SOS pendant on a hook

Pendants and watches don’t get pressed

In up to 95% of real falls the button is never pressed — forgotten, out of reach or taken off.

An OdeCare sensor on the living-room wall

OdeCare works by itself

Smart sensors quietly watch over every room, automatically. Nothing to wear, press or charge.

What OdeCare notices

Two kinds of things — the moment that needs a call, and the slow drift that comes before it. Nothing for your parent to do either way.

Right away — you get a call or an alert

A fallSomeone goes down and does not get back up.
Too long in the bathroomStill in there far longer than usual.
No morningThe usual wake-up time passes and the home stays still.
Went out and did not come backA trip to the shop that is taking far longer than it ever does.
Stopped moving somewhere unusualMotionless for a long stretch in a room nobody sits still in.

Week by week — early decline, before a fall

SleepShorter or broken nights — we tell you.
Moving aboutMoving less, or barely leaving the chair — we tell you.
Getting up at nightUp more often at night — we tell you.

You do not have to read charts. If something needs you, we say so.

The honest answers.

Price & payment

What exactly does the price include?

The £59 a month covers everything ongoing: the full kit sized to their home — the hub, a bathroom motion sensor, a door sensor and one radar room sensor per room — the 24/7 monitoring and the family app. Installation is a one-off £100, when a care specialist fits it all in one visit. There is nothing else to pay.

What does the £59 a month cover?

The equipment in the home, the 24/7 monitoring, the family app and your specialist support. The one-off £100 installation is the only other thing you pay, and after that the monthly does not change with how long you stay.

If I stop paying, what happens?

You can stop any time — no contract, no notice, no exit fee. What ends is the service, including the 24/7 monitoring, and your specialist walks you through exactly what that means for your parent’s home before you decide.

There’s no online checkout — how and when do I pay?

You continue on WhatsApp, where a specialist checks the home, confirms the kit it needs and sets up the monthly payment. It is £59 whatever the size of the home, and nothing is charged until you have agreed to it — you never type card details into a checkout page.

What if it isn’t right — can I return it?

Yes. There’s a 30-day return with a full refund if it isn’t right, so you can see how it works in their home before deciding to keep it. And all hardware carries a 1-year warranty.

Delivery & installation

How does it arrive and get set up — do I have to do anything?

A trained care specialist brings everything and installs it in one visit — sensors mount on the wall like smoke detectors, the hub plugs in. There’s nothing for you to assemble or configure and nothing for your parent to wear or learn, and the specialist checks everything is working before they leave.

Does my parent need to be home for the installation?

Yes — someone needs to let the specialist in and be there while the sensors are placed and checked. Your specialist arranges a time that suits your parent when you first message.

Do you cover my parent’s area?

The best way to know is to message us with your parent’s address, and your specialist will confirm coverage and install timing for that area. If we don’t cover the area yet, we’ll say so.

I live far from my parent — can this still work?

Yes — this is exactly the situation OdeCare is built for. The specialist installs everything at your parent’s address, and you follow the whole day from your own phone, wherever you are.

We have a pet — will it confuse the sensors?

Radar senses movement, so a pet moving around can register — which is why the specialist places and tunes the sensors during the visit with your parent’s household in mind. Mention any pets when you first message so the specialist can plan for them.

Privacy

Are there cameras or microphones anywhere?

No. The sensors use radar, which senses presence and movement as radio reflections — there’s no footage and no audio anywhere in the home, and nothing that can leak. What reaches your app is words about where they are and how the day is going, never images.

What does the app actually show — can I watch them?

The app shows words, never images: where they are in the home and how the day is going. You can’t see them or watch a live feed, because none exists — it’s a sense of the day at a glance, not a window into their rooms.

Will my mother feel watched? How do I introduce it?

The sensors sit on the wall — no lens, no light, nothing to interact with — so most parents stop noticing them within a few days. Because there are no cameras and the app only ever shows words, you can tell them honestly that nobody is looking at them: what reaches us is words about the day, and a trained operator only steps in when the sensors raise the alarm. The point is to help them keep living independently, and they can pause or remove it whenever they want.

Who can see the information — is their data shared or sold?

The family members you invite into the app, the care specialists supporting your parent, and the monitoring team who answer an alarm can see how their day is going.

We do not sell users’ personal data to advertising companies. How data is stored, processed and shared is described in our privacy policy.

Are the radar sensors safe to have on all day?

The sensors use low-power radio — the same family of wireless technology already in phones and home routers — and they sit on the wall rather than being worn or held. If your parent has an implanted medical device and you want to be certain, your specialist can talk it through before install.

How it works & after you buy

Is OdeCare a medical alarm or emergency service?

OdeCare is a monitored care system, not a medical or emergency service. Sensors watch the home around the clock, and when something looks wrong a trained operator attempts to contact the user and follows their agreed response plan, including contacting family, carers or emergency services where appropriate. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.

What happens in a power cut, an outage, or if a sensor fails?

If the power or the internet goes down, the hub can’t report — and OdeCare won’t hide that. You’re notified that the home has gone offline, and the app shows the status until the connection returns. If a sensor stops reporting as it should, message your specialist and they’ll help you sort it out.

Is it right for a parent with dementia or who’s very frail?

It suits a frail or forgetful parent well, because there’s nothing to wear, charge, press or learn — the sensors simply sit on the wall. The family sees how the day unfolds, but it isn’t a substitute for hands-on medical care, so pair it with whatever clinical support your parent needs.

Can several of us in the family follow along?

Yes. You can invite the family members who should be kept in the loop, and each follows the day from their own phone — so no single person has to carry it alone.

Still have a question?

Leave your number — a care specialist calls you back and answers it in plain words. No script, no pressure.
